I'll be honest. I mainly wanted to play That's not my Neighbor because it had overtaken my TikTok for you page over the summer months. It felt impossible to scroll without seeing someone playing it. If I didn't see Ryan from bimbam gaming playing it, I would definitely end up seeing someone else streaming it. As the main character in this game, we cannot find a job, so we end up being the doorman to the building we live in. Like the name implies, there are people we encounter who are not our neighbor. Doppelgangers numbers are on the rise, and it's our job to keep our building safe.
Some appearances make it very obvious that someone is a doppelganger of our neighbor, but others might slip passed you. You have to check a series of items off of a checklist to see if their appearance matches, ID information, occupation, and sometimes you will need to call their residence to see if they are already home. Make sure you check everything closely, the D.D.D. (Doppelganger Detection Department) can't help us once a doppelganger is allowed inside. Once allowed inside, we will become their next meal.Sunday, January 5, 2025
That's not my Neighbor
The game can get a bit repetitive in the general repetition of checking everything to see if they are able to enter or not, but I wouldn't say that the game gets super boring. There is always something new to keep you on your toes when working. I also thought it was cool that there was a nightmare mode and eventually an endless nightmare mode. It shakes things up in case you've spent too much time playing the original version of the game.
I definitely recommend you try this game for yourself. I probably will be checking out the game again this year. I played both the original version and nightmare mode on my YouTube channel. If you'd like to check out what "neighbors" I encountered, click here! This game is available to download on itch io. It is $2.99 but you definitely get your money's worth and then some with how much work the game developer(s) put into this game. It's a fun game to play when you don't know what to play and also don't want to start any super long story-based games.
