After the Curtain Call is an indie horror game in which we play as the new electrician of the Goldshine Theatre. During the game, we are responsible for directing the spotlight, fixing circuits and anything else that is requested of us by the actors. At first everything seems normal, but we begin to realize somethings seems a little off with the actors. Are they just really committed to their roles they're acting out or is something more sinister at play?
Act 1 is a shorter demo version of the game. We learn about some of the actors as we explore the Goldshine Theatre. We are mainly meant to complete several tasks in order to complete our main task of the demo. Things definitely aren't as they seem, but we must wait to continue exploring.
In Act 2, we are once again behind the spotlight like in the first act. We are given a series of tasks to complete and are able to explore more of the theatre to do so. This time we encounter a series of enemies along the way. Who is this masked person? Why are there giant tentacles? and why does this theatre feel never ending?
Throughout both acts, there are several book collectibles we can find and interact with. I liked the mini game aspect when unlocking doors and fixing things. This game's art style and section involving hiding in little closets is also inspired by bendy and the ink machine. You can tell that game developers put a lot of thought and time into the game between the design, game mechanics and voice acting.
I really liked playing both acts for this game so far, and I would definitely recommend you try this game out for yourself.
